Primary Collection
Our Primary Collection is the Museum’s core collection which includes archives and photographs and is composed of original items (i.e. not reproductions or copies). This collection serves as the main support of the Museum’s mission to public history education.

Amelia Heurich, wife of Christian Heurich and household manager of the Heurich House, kept diaries throughout her 50+ years of living in the Heurich House. Her recollections are vital to our continued research.

A few photographs in our collection include the household staff, giving us a deeper insight into who worked in the house, such as this one featuring Marie Miles, Amelia Heurich's chambermaid, with one of the family's dogs.

This 1901 Steinway Grand Piano was a gift from Christian Heurich to his wife, Amelia. The piano was originally black and the Heurichs had it custom painted gold with floral designs. It was restored in 2014 and is still playable.

The ornate oak sideboard depicts German folk tales and historic figures from Thuringia, Germany. It was commissioned in 1912 in Hania, near where Christian Heurich was born. It can be viewed in the bierstube, a room in the Heurich House that was designed to resemble a German tavern.
Breweriana Collection
The Breweriana collection contains over 1,000 objects related to the Chr. Heurich Brewing Co., such as branded cans, labels, and advertisements, in addition to archival materials like blueprints and employee business records.
The majority of our breweriana collection was acquired from local collector, Jack Blush, who accumulated it over 40 years. See a selection of the collection in our exhibit HOME/BREWED.

This wooden box contains 626 Heurich Employee Association Credit Union Cards.
