1921, a Biergarten

1921 is a biergarten in our Castle Garden that serves a rotating list of fresh local craft beer from DC breweries and beer brands, craft cocktails and wine from the area’s best beverage producers, and Senate Beer, the museum’s historic revival with Right Proper Brewing Company. Gather around Oktoberfest-style tables and Adirondack chairs, sit under our shady trees or warm yourself at our fire pits and heaters, and sip on your drink while visiting HOME/BREWED, an exhibit in the carriage house featuring 1,000 objects from the Heurich brewery. 1921 supports the museum’s Education and Incubator programs.

Organizing a Large Group to Visit 1921?

Whether you are organizing an alumni group, work party, special celebration, or other large gathering at the biergarten, we are happy to host you! To ensure your group has space to enjoy their time together, please consider making a reservation (info below). We are very strict about occupancy limits, and without a reservation, we cannot guarantee that space will be available for your group or that your guests will be able to enter the garden. If we reach occupancy limits we do not allow additional guests into the biergarten.

If you choose not to make a reservation for your large group, please make your guests aware of our capacity limitations and that 1921 closes promptly at 8pm. Thanks for your consideration!
