Read & Roam
On Thursday, July 24th from 5-7pm, the Heurich House Museum turns into your sanctuary for quiet (library-like) activities during Read & Roam.
Bring a book, sketchpad, or small craft project and spend time soaking in the beautiful interior at your own pace. Whether you choose to read, create, play a silent game, journal, meditate, take or simply relax and explore, this is a space free of distractions and interruptions.
Guests are welcome to bring quiet activities and comfort items like pillows or blankets.
The Heurich family lived in the house from 1894-1956 using it for a variety of activities. Rest for the family may have looked like daughter Anita reading a novel, Christian doing calisthenics (naked) in the garden, Amelia doing needle point in the boudoir, or extended family members lounging in the conservatory surrounded by house plants (pictured in graphic).
Rules:
- No glue, glitter, paint, or other messy materials
- No food or drink (except water)
- Headphones required for music
- Library voices only
- No children
This program is free to attend, please RSVP so we can ensure space for all!
Please note: This is NOT a tour of the Heurich House Museum. Visitors interested in learning more about the museum are encouraged to register for a guided tour online.
