Help us Find Our Next Executive Director
Dear Friends of Heurich House Museum,
We are pleased to announce that we are launching our search for Heurich House Museum’s next Executive Director.
Since opening to the public in 2003, the Heurich House Museum has evolved into a community-centered museum and incubator that honestly explores the American experience through the legacy of German immigrant Christian Heurich and his Washington, DC brewery, and creates an equitable path to success for local small-scale manufacturers. We support modern-day artists, tell empathetic and inclusive histories, serve as a community gathering space, and enhance our neighborhood’s cultural and economic ecosystem.
The Museum’s evolution has been guided by our leader, Kim Bender, who steps down in February to take an impactful new position. The museum’s long-time Assistant Director, Alex Fraioli, is serving in the role of Interim E.D., assuring a smooth transition as we search for permanent leadership.
We are launching an extensive national search to find creative and mission-driven leaders with strong business acumen, fundraising experience, and a record of inspiring collaborative, high-performing teams. The next Executive Director will be a compelling communicator and champion for our work, skilled in building coalitions, stewarding donor relationships, and guiding organizational strategy in a dynamic and evolving environment. Above all, this leader will share Heurich House Museum’s commitment to being a place that more people feel is meant for them.
We are working in partnership with Good Insight, a DC-based, award-winning executive search firm serving the nonprofit sector. Applications are open now, with best consideration given to those submitted by mid-March. For more details, including the full position profile, please visit good-insight.org/careers. Carlyn Madden, Ana Chapa, and Tej Pikle are leading the search. Send questions, ideas, or express your confidential interest by sending an email to HHM@good-insight.org.
Thank you for standing with us at this important moment in the Heurich House Museum’s history. With your continued partnership, we are confident that our next Executive Director will build on our strong foundation and guide Heurich House Museum into a vibrant new chapter of service and impact.
All the best,
Jerry L Foust
